Walnut harvest began from Paveh orchards
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Paveh city announced the beginning of walnut harvest from the gardens of the city.
Ardeshir Safiei announced the area of walnut orchards in Paveh city as 1432 hectares and added: 1307 hectares of these orchards are productive and the rest have not yet reached the fertile stage.
Saying that the average yield of walnut orchards in Paveh is estimated at one ton per hectare this year, Safiei said: This year, due to frost and hail in the spring, we are witnessing a decline in the yield of walnut orchards in the city, otherwise 1.2 tons Hectares are yielding.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Paveh city predicted: 1300 tons of walnuts will be produced from the gardens of the city this year.
Safiei, stating that Paveh city has the best walnut orchards in the province both in terms of production and quality, said: The most produced walnuts in Kermanshah province belong to Paveh city.
He added: Walnut orchards in Paveh city are considered as orchards with healthy and clean products due to the low use of pesticides and fertilizers by gardeners.
He then, referring to the ongoing development and improvement of walnut orchards in Paveh city, said: For this purpose, we have created a mother garden to prepare the graft needed to carry out branch operations in the city, while this year about eight hectares of branch operations In the walnut orchards of Paveh city, we had that by doing this operation, both the orchards will be young and the product will be replaced with resistant cultivars.
According to Safiei, the walnut harvest has started in Paveh city and will continue until the end of October.
