Stating that the most important commercial cultivars of walnuts are Chandler, Farnour, Eureka, Pine, Franket, Ashley, Sir, Chico, Hartley and Carpathian, he said: Walnut is the fourth major horticultural crop in Iran, after pistachio is the second most important crop in the country. And it is of great economic importance, especially non-oil exports. Iran is an important part of the walnut habitat and is currently the third largest walnut producer in the world after China and the United States.
He pointed out the characteristics of the most important commercial walnut cultivars: Chandler and Farnour are both late flowering and have high lateral fruiting, Eureka is relatively late flowering and has high lateral fruiting, low fruiting is early and its fruiting is high and fruit seam is firm and sized. It is average. It also has high lateral yield and homogeneity and is sensitive to apple cream and blight. Late-flowering, late-fruiting, fruiting, hard-skinned, elongated, uneven, small, without pores, and large trees with vertical growth.

Carpathine also has a high percentage of brain and high resistance to winter cold.
