Children’s allergies to peanuts cause skin inflammation in them

Findings of a study showed that the use of peanut oil in infants who are at risk of allergies to it causes skin inflammation in them.
Researchers have found that the prevalence of peanut allergy has increased in recent decades, and the only known risk factors for peanut allergy include atopy and a family history of peanut allergy.
According to the researchers, published in the journal NEGM, thirteen thousand 971 preschool children with the aim of identifying children who had a convincing history of peanut allergy and also determining the subgroup that reacted to peanuts in the double-blind test. The show was done.
In this study, first, prospective data were collected from the whole group and then retrospective information was collected by interviewing the parents of children with peanut allergy and the children of the two control groups, which were a random sample of the study group. And a group of children whose mothers had a history of eczema with eczema in the first six months of life were studied.
In this study, the researchers showed that 49 children had a history of peanut allergy, of which 36 children were tested and the sensitivity was confirmed in 23 of them.
Also, there was no evidence of fetal allergy due to maternal diet and no peanut-specific IGE was found in cord blood.
On the other hand, peanut allergy was independently associated with consumption of soy milk or soy milk powder, rash on joints and skin folds, moist and scaly rash. Analysis of the data from the researchers’ interviews showed a clear independent relationship between peanut allergy and the use of skin products containing peanut oil.
The researchers note that the impact of risk factors in future studies could lead to the use of new methods to prevent allergies in infants who are at risk for peanut allergies.
