The storm affected 40% of Bafgh pistachio crop

Storms and high temperatures in July and August have caused a 40% drop in pistachio crop yields in Bafgh.
The director of Bafgh Agricultural Jihad announced this news and mentioned the areas under pistachio cultivation in the central part of this city as 1500 hectares.
Nader Salim added: 600 hectares of this amount is fertile and a total of 432 tons of dried pistachios are harvested this year.
Referring to the compatibility of pistachios with soil and saline water, he announced the development of the area under pistachio cultivation along with increasing its yield from the policies of the Jihad Keshavarzi management of the city and specified: Pistachio cultivation in the central part of Bafgh has been increased.
The director of Bafgh Agricultural Jihad named Ohadi, Koleghoochi, Ahmad Aghaei and Akbari cultivars as the most important pistachio cultivars in this city.
