Walnut harvest 2300 hectares from Kohkiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad gardens
The director of horticulture of Kohkiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province Jihad Agricultural Organization said: the walnut harvest has started from 2300 hectares of fertile orchards in the province.
Engineer Seyed Rahmatollah Parichehr added: about three thousand farmers are working in the field of walnut harvest in this province.
He added: Unfortunately, due to the premature cold in this province, frost has destroyed more than a thousand tons of walnut orchards in this province, and our forecast for the harvest of this crop has increased from eight thousand tons to seven thousand tons.
Parichehr estimated the rial value of this amount of product at 101 billion rials, if realized, and said: This amount of income will play a significant role for the prosperity of the agricultural sector in this province.
He continued: this organization will add five thousand hectares to the walnut orchards of the province this year in order to increase the amount of orchards in the province.
