Harvesting 400 tons of walnuts in Hamadan province
Walnut harvest has been completed in 990 hectares in Hamedan city and it is predicted that at least 400 tons of walnuts with green skin will be harvested.
Engineer Afshin Nik, Director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Hamedan city, added: In order to yield and improve the quality and quantity of walnuts, in addition to animal and rotten fertilizers given by the owners to walnut orchards, based on the needs of walnut trees, 3900 bags of macro and macro chemical fertilizers. It was distributed among gardeners by gardeners’ cooperatives and rural cooperatives.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Hamedan city further stated: Every year, the cultivation of walnut seedlings in Hamedan province develops more. In the current crop year, 2400 seedlings in 24 hectares with the preparation and distribution of watershed management in watersheds in several villages, as well as 2100 walnut seedlings under the supervision and introduction of the horticultural unit of this management from nurseries approved by the Jihad Agricultural Organization and in Potential areas in the villages of Hamadan city were planted.
Because of the properties mentioned above, more than 70 percent of the medicinal properties of walnuts are exported after legal procedures, Nick said.
One of the reasons for gardeners to pay attention to planting walnut seedlings is its compatibility with the climatic conditions of Hamedan, and in addition to quality, it has high storage properties and an affordable price for this product.
