Annual production of 2300 tons of almonds in this Shabestar city
Shabestar Agricultural Jihad, in order to increase the yield of almond orchards, has implemented nutrition and improvement projects for rainfed orchards of this product in the city for two decades.
The director of Shabestar Agricultural Jihad added: In this regard, the applicants for the construction of almond groves have been assisted through the obligatory notes of the budget law and bank facilities in the form of the Touba plan, and now Shabestar is one of the major centers of almond production.
Esfandiar Abolhassanzadeh said: this city with an annual production of 2,300 tons of almonds from 1500 hectares of orchards in the city with an average efficiency of 9.1 tons per hectare in irrigated orchards and 0.5 tons per hectare in rainfed orchards 17% of the province’s almond production Is dedicated to itself.
He continued: Proper pruning and the use of late almond cultivars to increase production per unit area are at the top of the management plans.
He stated that 40% of cucumbers are also produced in Shabestar province, adding: Cucumber harvesting from 360 hectares of farms in Shabestar city, which started in June, continues.
The director of Shabestar Agricultural Jihad added: The cities of Shendabad, Sharafkhaneh, Koozeh Kanan and Shabestar are the main centers of crop production in the city.
Abolhassanzadeh positively assessed the establishment of processing factories for these products in the region’s economy.
