The results of the researches of the researchers of the Biomedical Department of the Women’s Research Institute of Al-Zahra University
in collaboration with Putra University of Malaysia indicate the antioxidant and anti-cancer effect of Barberry fruit called Berberis vulgaris against
the carcinogens diethylniphrosamine and acetaminophen.
Dr. Parichehr Hanachi, Professor of the Women’s Research Institute of Al-Zahra University and researcher of this project, added:
The extract of this plant has no effect on normal cells, but prevents the rapid growth of liver cancer cells and reduces the growth of cancer cells.

Berberis vulgaris is a fruit of the barberry family that has a high percentage of vitamin C and its antioxidant effects. Recognized by the standards used.
This plant is mostly seen in European countries and parts of Asia and is used as a medicinal plant.
