Predicting a 15% decrease in barberry harvest in South Khorasan
Hashem Valipour Motlagh, head of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of South Khorasan, said: It is predicted that the barberry harvest this year will be 14,260 tons. Due to the summer heat and hail and cold damage, the barberry crop has decreased by 10 to 15 percent compared to last year.
The head of the South Khorasan Agricultural Jihad Organization stated: This year, 14,780 hectares of land in South Khorasan are under barberry cultivation, of which 12,830 hectares are expected to be fertile.
Valipour Motlagh, stating that the exchange rate of barberry is estimated at 1507 billion rials for the province, said: It is expected that we will have the highest harvest of this product in the cities of Ghaen, Zirkuh, Darmian and Birjand.
The head of the South Khorasan Agricultural Jihad Organization reminded: Due to the weather conditions in different parts of South Khorasan, the barberry harvest has started from the middle of October and will continue until the end of December.
