Annually 135000 tons of raisins are exported outside Iran
According to the Deputy Director of Fruit Affairs of the Deputy Minister of Plant Production Improvement of the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture,
he emphasized: Iran’s export of raisins has not yet reached Turkey in terms of quality.
To solve this problem, appropriate figures should be used in developing vineyards.
Shahamatifar said in a meeting to study the problems of grape growers in Qazvin province:
There are currently 400,000 hectares of vineyards in the country and more than three million tons of grapes are harvested from these orchards.
Referring to the export of 135,000 tons of raisins abroad, he said:
This amount of 180,000 tons of raisins is used for raisins and the rest is eaten fresh.
Referring to the fact that 20% of the total raisins produced in the country are consumed domestically and the rest are exported, Shahamatifar added:
In the last quarter, 13,617 tons of raisins worth 30 million and 894 thousand dollars have been exported abroad.
He described the grape production figure in Iran well and added:
Unfortunately, we have problems in the way of processing and converting it into raisins,
and standard workshops have been built for this purpose in recent years.
According to this report, Amir Taherkhani, the representative of the people of Takestan in the Islamic Consultative Assembly,
referring to the capacities and capabilities of this city, called for solving the problem of the vine growers in producing grapes and raisins.
Regarding the coverage of rivers and pressurized irrigation, he said:
With the implementation of these projects, water efficiency and savings in it have also increased.
Taherkhani pointed out:
Due to the frost, most of the vineyards of this city have suffered severe damage to the gardeners of the people of this city during the last year.
In the end, he called for attention to the packaging and processing industries of raisins.
