Production of 58% of Hamedan grapes in Malayer
The director of Malayer Jihad-e-Agriculture announced that Malayer produced 58% of the province’s grapes.
Gholam Hossein Taghavi, in introducing Malayer position, said: this city has gained the first rank of the province by producing 725 billion Tomans of agricultural products.
He pointed out that Malayer ranks first to third in the province in the production of honey, walnuts, red meat and almonds, and said: Malayer can become a pilot for the production of grapes in the country due to good soil.
Taghavi said that out of 19,000 hectares of orchards in the city, 11,000 hectares are vineyards. Due to the reduction of groundwater levels for pressurized irrigation, the government has provided good facilities for farmers, he said.
Taghavi enumerated Malayer’s potential in the livestock, agriculture and horticulture sectors and added: The talent of this city in diversity and grape production is remarkable.
