Grape production to 33 thousand tons in Yazd province
Horticulture director of Jihad Agricultural Organization of Yazd province, referring to the 10% increase in grape production in this province, said: 30,000 tons of grapes worth more than 60 billion rials will be harvested in the province.
Sayyed Jamal Sajjadipour, stating that the area of vineyards in the province is 1950 hectares, referring to the development plan of the area under grape cultivation until the end of the fourth program, clarified: By the end of 2009 the area under grape cultivation to one thousand 958 hectares and production amounting to 33 thousand Will reach.
The director of horticulture of Yazd Jihad Agriculture Organization emphasized about the problems of farmers in the field of grape production: Delayed announcement of guaranteed purchase price of raisins and transportation problems after gasoline quota are among the problems of this sector.
Sajjadipour stated: The main consumption of grapes produced in Yazd is consumed within the province or neighboring provinces and is more than Askari, Yaghouti and Bidaneh raisins cultivars.
