Harvesting 36,000 tons of grapes from Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad vineyards
Zavareh Azadpour added: The area of vineyards in this province is 1351 hectares, of which 1221 hectares are fertile and 130 hectares are infertile.
He stated: The potential of grape production in the province is more than 36 thousand tons per year, which in irrigated orchards has an average yield of more than 22 tons per hectare and in rainfed orchards is about three tons per hectare.
Horticulture director of Jihad Keshavarzi Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad pointed out: The most important grape cultivars that are cultivated in this province are ruby grapes, Askari grapes, black grapes, Rajabi grapes and Rutbi grapes.
Azadpour stated: The areas that have the most grape cultivation in the province are Dena, Basht and Charam counties.
He continued: a small part of the province’s grapes are sent to consumer markets in home and industrial raisin production workshops and the rest in fresh form.
Horticulture director of Jihad Keshavarzi Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad stated: Among the problems in this field is the lack of processing and processing industries and cold stress in these orchards.
Azadpour added: It is expected that more than 36,000 tons of grapes will be harvested from the vineyards of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad provinces this year.
