125% increase in grape production in Markazi province

According to the horticulture director of the Jihad Agriculture Organization of the province, the area of grape orchards in the province is 14,000 hectares, and the highest area under cultivation of this product belongs to the city of Khondab with 6,000 hectares.
Asgari, Fakhri, Red Currant, Ruby, White Currant, Lal and Shirazi are the most important grape cultivars produced in the province.
Zarei stated that the average grape harvest in the province is 12 tons per hectare and added: Markazi province ranks ninth in grape production in the country.
Last year, 105,000 tons of grapes were produced in the province.
52 thousand tons of grapes produced in the province are consumed and the rest are sent to neighboring provinces.
Grape harvest in the province begins with the harvest of ruby grape cultivars in July and continues until October.
