To solve the problem of lack of date storage space in Khuzestan, 200 million tomans have been invested by the Rural Cooperative Organization of the province.

Dehghanian, the deputy head of the Rural Cooperative Organization of Khuzestan Province, explained: We had favorable promises from Tehran that 250 million tomans were to be given to us for the construction of a warehouse, and the province would invest the same amount to build a warehouse. Unfortunately, none of this was done, and we invested from our own credits, and from the internal credits of the network and loans, we will add about 3,000 tons of storage capacity to the inventory in the city of Abadan.

He reminded: There is storage in Khuzestan, but they are not specific to dates. For example, this situation exists in Andimeshk, Dezful and Shushtar. Considering last year’s production in Shadegan 5,000 tons and in Abadan at least 10,000 tons, we are facing a shortage of storage capacity.

Dehghanian pointed out: Due to the amount of dates in excess of the need purchased by the Rural Cooperative Organization in Khuzestan last year, which was about 19,200 tons and about 55% of this amount is related to Abadan, the severe shortage of our warehouses many problems Has created.

He said: The storage capacity in Shadegan is 2000 tons, which of course is a multi-purpose warehouse, and in Abadan, with the new capacity that we are adding, the storage capacity will reach about 4,500 tons, which is very low compared to the province’s dates. Abadan and Shadegan will remain.

The deputy head of the Khuzestan Rural Cooperative Organization stated that a total of 120,000 tons of dates were produced in Khuzestan province last year. The Khuzestan Rural Cooperative Organization also expects to purchase 25,000 tons of surplus dates.
