Increase of 250 hectares of date cultivation area in Hormozgan city
Director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Hajiabad city announced the beginning of palm pollination season in this city and said: Due to the increase of 250 hectares this year, the area under date cultivation in this city has reached 4,450 hectares.
Nazem Abbaszadeh announced this news: the area under date cultivation last year was 4,200 hectares, which has reached 4,450 hectares due to the increase of 250 hectares this year.
He announced the beginning of the pollination season in Hajiabad from the beginning of April and added: the pollination of palm trees in Hajiabad will continue until mid-May.
Abbaszadeh pointed to the important points of date cultivation in Hajiabad and said: Daragah, Tazarj, Ahmadi, Tarom, Baraftab and the outskirts of Hajiabad are considered as the important points of date palm cultivation in this city that important cultivars such as Pyaram, Mazafati, Khasavi Shahani and khanizi have been cultivated in these places.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Hajiabad city considered Pyarom date as the world’s top cultivar and specified: this date is very unique and is exported to European and Asian countries, especially to Malaysia, annually.
The official in charge of the dates of this city ranked first in terms of quality in the province and acknowledged: development plans as well as the removal and replacement of palm trees and adaptation to climatic conditions have had a significant impact on the quality and quantity of this product.
