The director of Jihad-e-Keshavarzi of Rudan city said: the harvest of dates in Rudan city starts from the beginning of July with the arrival of early dates of Al Mehtari and Negar cultivars and ends in November with the harvest of late ripening dates of Halili.

Majid Amaei added: Among the dominant dates of Rudan city are high quality cultivars of Crete, Mardasang, Khanizi, Mazafati, Halili and Al Mehtari, respectively.

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Rudan city pointed to the conversion industries in the discussion of dates in this city and said: Rudan city has three refrigeration units for storing dates and a unit for separating and packing this product with a capacity of more than 18,000 tons.

Amaei also referred to the implementation of the plan to eliminate old and substandard palm cultivars in the city of Rudan and added: in recent years, with the implementation of the plan to eliminate old, substandard and worn cultivars to replace with high quality commercial cultivars such as Barhi, Zahedi, Diri, Tori and Majul Tissue culture seedlings have been used.

He specified: Rudan city, with more than 9000 hectares of area under date palm cultivation and annual production of more than 38 thousand tons of date crop, is the second largest area under cultivation and production of this product in Hormozgan.

The director of Jihad-e-Keshavarzi of Rudan city pointed out: The dates harvested in Rudan city are exported to the provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad and also to all of Hormozgan.
