Prediction of harvesting 148,000 tons of dates in Hormozgan

Seyed Saeed Modarres said: so far, eight to 10 tons of rotb have been harvested from the province’s date palms and offered to the market.

He stated that the area under date palm cultivation in the province is 37,800 hectares and it is predicted that more than 148,000 tons of dates will be harvested, which is an increase of 15% compared to last year. And khanizi is one of the most important date cultivars in the province.
Modarres, pointing out that the main dates for export are Pyarom and Zahedi cultivars, said: With proper planning for the development of date palms in the province, tissue culture date palms have been distributed among the applicants.
He said: Most of the province’s date palms are located in cities such as Bandar Abbas, Hajiabad, Minab and Rudan.
