Harvesting dates from Rudbar groves
Mohsen Saeedi stated: The date harvest has started from the groves of this city.
He pointed out that the harvest of this crop will continue until the end of September, he said: the area under date cultivation in this city is about 5 thousand and 800 hectares.
Saeedi, considering that the average yield of dates in Rudbar region is about seven tons per hectare, clarified: it is expected that more than 40,000 tons of dates will be harvested from the city’s date palms this year.
The director of Jihad-e-Keshavarzi of Rudbar city said: the dominant cultivars of this region are of Kaluteh and Mazafati type and have a very desirable quality.
He added: This year, with the recommendation of the head of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of Southern Kerman, the cultivation of date palms with dry cultivars such as Pyarom and Zahedi, which are market-friendly and have a longer shelf life than other cultivars, is on the agenda of this management.
