Gholamreza Vafaei in the meeting to review the irrigation situation in Abpakhsh palms stated: Irrigation is a major agricultural hub of the province, especially in the production of dates and the development of agricultural infrastructure in this region is essential.

He added: This year, more than 53,000 tons of dates and rotb have been harvested in Abpakhsh palms and we hope we will not have any problems in selling products.

The irrigation district governor stressed the need to improve the flood irrigation method in palm trees and reminded: the current irrigation method in irrigated palm trees is undesirable and due to the recent droughts, a new method should be replaced.

Vafaei stated: Improving the irrigation method should be done with national determination and jihadi management, and dear farmers should cooperate with the experts of the Agricultural Water and Jihad Organization.

Referring to the bitter experience of Saadabad district in the field of water shortage, he added: Unfortunately, in Saadabad district, due to water shortage, many palm trees were destroyed and farmers were harmed, and we should deal with water shortage by improving consumption patterns and irrigation methods.

Abpakhsh district governor reminded: palm growers are worried about selling their products this year, but we have made valuable follow-ups to guarantee the purchase of dates and solve the problems of palm growers.
