15,000 tons of Khark and Rotab are harvested in Shadegan

The head of the Shadegan Agricultural Jihad Office, referring to the harvest of Khark and Rotb from the groves of the city, said: We anticipate that farmers will be able to harvest about 15,000 tons of Khark and Rotb crops.

Referring to the harvest of Khark and Rotab in Shadegan, Khalil Maniat said: out of 13,000 hectares of fertile date palms in this city, the harvest of Khark and Rotb is done at the level of 7,000 hectares and the rest of the date palms are not harvested now to harvest dates.

He added: Currently, farmers are harvesting Khark and Rotb from the city’s date palms, and in this regard, the harvest of Khark and Rotb will be completed in the same days, and the harvest of Rotb will continue until mid-September.

The head of Shadegan Agricultural Jihad Department stated: Colonization, Zahedi, Barim, Khazravi, Barhi, Gantar, Ovidi, Diri, Yuzi, Shokra, Ashgar, Farsi and Halavi are the main dates produced in this city.

Maniat continued: Considering the rainy conditions and the proper condition of water supply required by date palms, we are witnessing very good quality products and in this regard, we predict that farmers will be able to harvest about 15,000 tons of khark and rotb.

He said that this year, due to the appropriate rainfall, the yield and quality of crops has also improved, noting that about 8% of the people of the city make a living by planting palm trees, which fortunately is in good condition this year.
