Twice increase in sturgeon production in Khuzestan

Sturgeon production in Khuzestan reached 14,533 kg this year, which has doubled compared to last year.
Director General of Khuzestan Fisheries, referring to the latest situation of sturgeon breeding in the province, said: 4 sturgeon farms in the cities of Shousha, Shushtar (2) and Dezful are being exploited.
Fathollah Abu Ali added: 2 sturgeon farms in Gotvand city with a production capacity of 180 tons of meat and 6 tons of caviar are also under construction, which will enter the production circuit in 1400.

Referring to the fact that the province’s caviar production is 264 kg, he said: The production of these products has increased by about 8% compared to 1998.

Abu Ali, stating that the main approach of Khuzestan Fisheries is the growth and development of sturgeon breeding in the province, added: The construction of Shohan Dezful sturgeon complex, which is one of the largest complexes in the Middle East with a total area of ??34 hectares and a production capacity of 2,000 tons is underway.

Director General of Khuzestan Fisheries, referring to the need to facilitate the process of providing banking facilities to producers in Khuzestan, said: Khuzestan is still the first way in the field of growth and development of sturgeon farming, so the respiration period of loans received by producers should be increased.
