10% reduction in rice cultivation in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari

The director of agriculture of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Jihad Agricultural Organization announced the beginning of rice cultivation in the province.

Rice cultivation has started in the paddy fields of the province since the end of June and will continue until the first decade of July, said Cyrus Bekbakan.

He pointed out that rice is cultivated in Lordegan, Kiar, Ardal and Saman cities, adding: The highest amount of rice cultivation has been done in Lordegan city.

The director of agriculture of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province Jihad Agricultural Organization said: it is predicted that rice cultivation will be reduced in 3000 hectares of lands in the province, which has decreased by 10% compared to last year due to water shortage in the province.

Beikbakan pointed out that 10 hectares of Lordegan lands are mechanized cultivation, adding: It is predicted that 4.9 tons of paddy will be harvested from the province’s lands this year.

The director of agriculture of Jihad Keshavarzi of Jagan province, Barhang, mentioned Oyarsalam as one of the weeds of rice fields and advised the farmers: Farmers should make optimal use of water in planting rice and mechanize cultivation in places where mechanized cultivation is possible. Also do weed control and optimal nutrition to improve the quality of their product.
