Production forecast of 280 tons of rice in Gilan-e-Gharb

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Gilan-e-Gharb city predicted that 280 tons of rice with paddy will be produced in this city this year.

Nusratullah Fallahi said that the area under rice cultivation in this city is 80 hectares and predicted that a total of 280 tons of rice with paddy will be produced in this city this year.

According to the director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Gilan-e-Gharb city, about 250 tons of rice with paddy was produced in this city last year.

Fallahi stated that the average yield of rice in this city is 3.5 tons of rice with paddy per hectare and added: the average production of white rice in this city is about 2 tons per hectare.

He called the rice cultivar produced in this city Anbarbo and said: This local cultivar has a pleasant aroma, taste and smell and is given a lot of attention.

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Gilan-e-Gharb city further included the rice produced in this city in the list of organic products and said: no poison or fertilizer is used in the production of this rice.

According to Fallahi, a large part of the rice produced is consumed by the people of the city and the surplus is sent to the provincial capital.

He added: each kilogram of rice produced in this city is sold for about seven thousand tomans.

According to Fallahi, rice harvesting in the city will begin in early November.
