Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, the expert in charge of agriculture, said: This province ranks seventh in the country in terms of rice production.

Nematullah Roozbehi added: This province is one of the rice-rich provinces of the country, and based on this, the area under rice cultivation last year was 7400 hectares, of which 39 thousand tons of paddy was harvested, of which 22,270 tons of rice was harvested from paddy.

He stated that rice is the main food of half of the world’s population: Champa and local pollen, high-yielding cultivars of Shamim, Tarom, Fajr, Shafaq and Sazandegi are the rice cultivars produced in this province, which is 2940 hectares of these lands. Under local rice cultivation, 4460 hectares are also high-yield rice cultivation lands.

Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, the expert in charge of agriculture of Jihad Keshavarzi, pointed out: Due to the water situation of the province and the desired rainfall level in the quarter of this year, the area under rice cultivation increased to 7,590 hectares in 1392, which is expected to produce 40,000 tons of paddy and 23,000 tons this year. It is a thousand tons of rice.

Roozbehi pointed out that rice planting in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad rice lands is done by hand planting: Boyerahmad city with 2300 hectares has the highest and Bahmaei city with 140 hectares has the lowest area under rice cultivation in the province.

He stated: Rice storage in cold regions has started on May 25 and lasts for two weeks and the time of transplanting in cultivated lands starts from June 10, in which the harvest time will be September 16 to October 16, while in tropical regions 15 Treasury collection will take place until May 10, and will start in late June until early July, and the harvest time will begin on October 11.

Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Jihad Keshavarzi’s expert in charge of agriculture, added: Jihad Keshavarzi uses agricultural experts to monitor rice planting, holding and harvesting to improve rice production. Also, this organization and in recent years, by forming training classes, provides the necessary training to produce a good product. And provides quality to farmers.

In the end, Roozbehi considered the lack of legal authority to buy rice by the government and the purchase of rice by intermediaries at low prices as the most important problems of rice farmers in the province and added: Due to the mountainous nature of the province and small plots in the lands, Jihad Agricultural Organization has succeeded in mechanized cultivation.
