The head of the country’s tea organization said: 30,000 tons of dry tea were produced in 160 tea factories in Gilan and Mazandaran.

Habib Jahansaz, pointing out that 10 billion and 500 million Tomans of tea growers ‘claims were transferred to their accounts, said: By depositing this amount, 477 billion and 800 million Tomans, equivalent to 93% of tea growers’ claims, were deposited.

He added: 35 billion and 900 million tomans of the remaining claims will be paid by the end of this month.

Jahansaz continued: This year, tea growers in Gilan and Mazandaran harvested 132,000 tons of green tea leaves worth 513 billion and 700 million Tomans from their gardens, of which 60,000 tons, equivalent to 46%, were first grade and 71,079 tons were second grade.

He specified: From this amount of green tea leaves, 30,000 tons of dry tea were produced in 160 tea factories in Gilan and Mazandaran.

The head of the country’s tea organization stated that 90% of the country’s green tea leaves are produced in Gilan, and specified: the two northern provinces of Gilan and Mazandaran have 60,000 tea-working families and 25,000 hectares of tea gardens.
