End of tea harvest in the northern provinces of Iran
The head of the country’s tea organization announced the end of the harvest of green tea leaves in the provinces of Gilan and Mazandaran.
Ali Moharrar said: In the current crop year, 110,148 tons of green tea leaves have been purchased from tea farmers in Gilan and Mazandaran provinces.
He added: of this amount of purchased green tea leaves, the amount of 25099 tons is first grade and 84697 tons is second grade, which is 23% of one and 77% of two in the current crop year.
Muharram pointed out: 24,783 tons of dry tea has been produced from this amount of purchased green leaves.
Muharra continued: In the current crop year, about 400 purchasing and financial supervisors, computer operators and experts of the Tea Organization helped the Tea Organization of the country in the guaranteed purchase of green tea leaves.
He said: This year, about 165 tea making units in Gilan and Mazandaran provinces were engaged in guaranteed purchase of green tea leaves and production of quality dry tea.
The head of the country’s tea organization stated: Considering that this year has been named the year of supporting national production, labor and Iranian capital by the Supreme Leader, the experts of this organization have focused their efforts on quality tea and its supply to the consumer basket. Moharrar also announced the formation of specialized working groups with the presence of experts from the country’s tea organization, tea growers ‘and manufacturers’ organizations to compile a strategic document for the country’s tea and specified: Country tea will be seen in this strategic document.
Muharrar stated: Using the latest findings and scientific achievements, applied research and proper planning, their optimal implementation should be done to improve the quality of the country’s tea.
