A nutritionist in Yazd said: Green tea contains high fluoride, which plays an important role in preventing tooth decay.
Yousef Naghiaei said: Green tea, like tea and other beverages, is in a diverse group and its energy content is very small and has one kilocalorie.
He said that green tea contains many compounds of black tea, including high caffeine, tannins, theoborum, gallic acid, etc., continued: The most important active ingredient in green tea is catechin, which is a very powerful and effective antioxidant in preventing the occurrence of Cancers and cardiovascular injuries.
Naqiaei added: Green tea also has many polyphenols that in addition to antioxidant properties, also have antibacterial and anti-infective properties.
Green tea contains substances that activate the enzyme lipase, which helps lower triglycerides, said the nutritionist.
This drink also contains substances that reduce cell death of important organs such as the heart, and its other properties include lowering blood cholesterol, lowering blood pressure, blood sugar, and preventing sudden rises in blood sugar and boosting the body’s immunity, he said.
People who use anticoagulants such as warfarin or people who are accustomed to taking aspirin should avoid it, he said. Also, its use during pregnancy and lactation should be according to the doctor’s advice and caution.
