49 tons of tea were exported from Gilan
Mohammad Ali Yousefi stated that the approximate economic value of this amount of tea exported was 680 million Rials in one certificate.
He continued his remarks: During the last two months, 32 export certificates have been issued for 1,156 tons of goods with an economic value of 57 billion rials.
The Director General of Standards and Industrial Research of Gilan called the export products including dates, raisins and tea and said: These products have been exported to Russia, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Czech Republic, Germany, Kenya, UAE and India.
He added: This amount of exports has decreased by 29% in terms of number, 55% in terms of weight and increased by 8% in terms of value compared to the same period of the previous year.
Yousefi continued: Also, in the last two months, 24 export tariff determination declarations were examined by testing 16 samples.
Director General of Standards and Industrial Research of Gilan added: In the same period, 459 mandatory import declarations for more than 270,000 tons of goods have been evaluated for compliance.
He added: This adaptive assessment has increased by 57% in terms of number and 2% in terms of weight compared to the previous year.
Yousefi reminded: Also, 72 tariff determination declarations were examined with 66 samples for 7,363 tons of goods.
Last year, 5,760 tons of tea were exported from Gilan abroad, of which 1,506 tons were in April and May 2014.
There are more than 32,000 hectares of tea gardens in Gilan and Mazandaran provinces, of which about 90% are located in Gilan.
50,000 Chaikar farming families, 32,000 hectares of tea gardens and 160 tea processing units in Gilan and Mazandaran provinces are active in the field of tea industry, of which 130 units are related to Gilan and of these, 38 units are covered by the standard.
