Farzad Navayan, head of the Ramsar Agricultural Jihad Office: Echium amoenum is grown on 130 hectares of land in the village of Janat Rudbar, and between 30 and 40 tons of dry produce are obtained annually from this area.
He stated that Janat Rudbar village is located in the southwest of Ramsar and at a distance of 60 km from this city, and specified: the production of Echium amoenum is obtained organically due to the non-use of fertilizers and chemical toxins and it is healthy and of quantity and quality. Suitable.
The head of Ramsar Agricultural Jihad Office pointed out: Echium amoenum is customer-friendly due to its good quality and good appearance, and this product is exported to other provinces of the country such as Behshahr, Neka, Hashtpar, and Talesh.
Navayan added: Packaging industries as well as market regulation with supply and demand management, especially at harvest time, are important and necessary points for organizing production. We hope that this problem will be solved in the coming years by creating the necessary conditions and popular participation in the form of organizations.
He added: The biggest problem of this village is the traditional irrigation of Echium amoenum, because in the hot season, the river water decreases and the irrigation of farms is difficult. More than 1,500 farmers cultivate Echium amoenum in the summer areas of Jannat Rudbar and it is considered as one of the most lucrative crops in the region. Flowering of this plant begins in mid-May and continues until late June and sporadically until late September.
Mehrzad Khalatbari, the mayor of Janat Rudbar village, stated: Janat Rudbar village is one of the oldest villages in the village and the center of Janat Rudbar village, and most of its inhabitants are farmers and ranchers and are very kind and simple.
He pointed out: In the years before the revolution, rain-fed cultivation of wheat and barley in this area was common and due to lack of facilities and agricultural implements was difficult and there was no suitable market for some residents to collect medicinal plants around the village such as chamomile , Thyme and Echium amoenum took action.
Khalatbari added: The market for selling Echium amoenum flowers flourished due to its good quality, and for this reason, the cultivation of this plant became the focus of agriculture in Janat Rudbar village, especially in the center of the village, which had a high population.
Referring to the quality of Echium amoenum, he said: Echium amoenum in this area is about two inches high when picking due to the compatibility of climate and soil with this plant, and after being placed in the attic of houses, it is wide and with indirect heat. The sun dries and then is placed in large cloth bags and stored in a dark warehouse until sold. The color of the flower that is dried and stored in these conditions is dark purple and is very colorful. Over time, in many parts of the country, the flowers of the bull’s tongue change color and turn white over time.
Khalatbari stated: With the efforts of the officials, the village council and the city administrations and the enthusiastic welcome of the people of Ramsar and Tonekabon, especially the residents of Janat Rudbar, we held the first national festival. Holding this festival led to the economic, agricultural and tourism growth of this region. The Tourism Organization has called Jannat Rudbar the capital of the country.
