The Deputy Minister of Crop Production Improvement of the North Khorasan Jihad Agricultural Organization said: Planting cumin in this province is a way to deal with the problem of water shortage.
Tashkari emphasized: North Khorasan has a very good capacity in cultivation and production of cumin medicinal plant.
He added: North Khorasan is a water-scarce province, so to deal with this crisis, we must move to the cultivation of medicinal plants such as cumin.
Tashkari added: Currently, cumin is cultivated in a city like Esfarayen, which harvests between 500 and 800 kg per hectare by performing two irrigations.
He continued: The climatic conditions in this province are very suitable for the cultivation of medicinal plants, and on the other hand, since the form of arable land for medicinal plants in the province is small, it can be managed in these fields.
The official said: Emphasis is placed on the production of medicinal plants at the head of the rural household, especially rural women.
