Eskandari, stating that cumin is a spice with different uses, said: this plant can play a special role in the export of agricultural products.

He pointed out: Cumin is classified as a medicinal plant and the purpose of its production is to meet the needs of domestic consumption and export it to other countries.

Eskandari, pointing out that the most important use of this plant is for food, industrial and medicinal purposes, said: Factors such as short growing season, low water requirement, inconsistency of its working season with other crops, job creation, stated value and high desirable income are possible features. Cumin plant is the focus of the agricultural sector.

He stated: Cumin and irrigated cumin will be planted in the second half of March to the first half of April according to the climate of the region.

Eskandari said: gardeners of Esco, Shabestar and Tabriz counties with 150, 11 and five hectares of cultivated lands, respectively, will continue the production of this product in the province.

Implementing strategies such as using modified seeds, guaranteed purchases and increasing purchase prices will be a good encouragement for medicinal plant producers, he said.
