A type of thyme adapted to the climate of Markazi province was produced
Scientific members of the Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Center of Markazi Province announced the production of a type of thyme that is compatible with the climate and environmental conditions of the province.
Goodarzi said: this type of thyme called thymus dinensis was produced during various researches in this center and was introduced for the use of exploiters.
He added: This thyme genus has been obtained after four years of various researches and experiments on the amount of production, the amount of essential oil obtained and drought resistance.
He said: This plant species is resistant to water shortage, and if more water is provided to this product, it can be harvested up to four times a year and production will increase.
The faculty member of the Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Center of Markazi Province explained: Uniformity and uniformity in the substance and essential oil obtained from this plant is the most important principle in changing this species.
Goodarzi emphasized: preventing the destruction of natural genetic resources in the areas of the province is one of the benefits of using this new species that should be introduced to farmers.
He continued: This research has been carried out in order to determine and introduce the most suitable species of the genus Thymus in the Aliabad Medicinal Plants Station in Arak in an area of ??about two hectares.
Thyme is a plant from the mint family that there are 14 species of this genus throughout the country, including thymol and linalool, which have antimicrobial, antispasmodic, antitussive and cold treatment properties.
