Beginning of Damask rose harvest from Kermanshah gardens
Reza Zarei stated that the area of Damask rose flower gardens in Kermanshah province is 304 hectares and added: of this area, 222 hectares are fertile and another 82 hectares have not yet reached the fertile stage. Also, 280 hectares of flower gardens in the province are blue and the rest is rainfed.
The horticulture director of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of Kermanshah province said: It is estimated that 530 tons of Damask rose will be produced in the gardens of the province this year.
He said that in all cities of the province except Qasr Shirin and Sarpolzahab, we have Damask rose gardens, he said: Most Damask rose gardens in Kangavar and Hersin are located with 145 and 63 hectares, respectively.
Referring to the beginning of Damask rose harvest from the province’s gardens in the first week of May, Zarei said: Damask rose harvest in the province will continue until the end of May.
He further mentioned the existence of Damask rose processing centers in the province and said: There are three active Damask rose processing centers in Kermanshah province, one of which is located in Harsin city and the other two in Kermanshah city, and these units have a production capacity of 2067 tons. They have roses.
Zarei added: Damask rose is offered in fresh, dried, dried buds, rose and essential oil.
The horticulture director of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of Kermanshah province also referred to the province’s plan to develop Damask rose orchards and said: This year, we have planned to create 200 hectares of Damask rose gardens in the province.
