Chamomile essential oil is effective in preventing bleeding
For the first time, Iranian researchers succeeded in quantitatively and qualitatively examining the aromatic and medicinal plant of false chamomile.
Results of Afagh Nazar Alipour, Instructor and Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Shahid Beheshti University, and Fatemeh Sefidkan, Associate Professor, Department of Plant Chemistry, Institute of Forest and Rangeland Research, 40% in chamomile essential oil (which is the main ingredient in pseudo chamomile essential oil) , can prevent bleeding.
In this study, the aerial parts of false chamomile species were collected from Taleghan region in the north of Tehran at the full flowering stage and after drying in the shade of ambient wind, the flowering branch of the plant was essentially extracted three times by steam distillation. The essential oil was obtained as a light yellow oil layer with a yield of 45%.
Then, the constituents of the essential oil were analyzed using gas chromatography and gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometer. The results of this study showed: 14 compounds with concentrations higher than 0.07% were identified in chamomile essential oil.
Among the compounds matricaria ester, trans and trans (93.39), cis-calamenene, (99.22%), Z – b – farnesene, (54.12%), b – maaliene, (98.7%) and b – sesquiphellandrene (22.2%) were the main constituents of the essential oil – the identified compounds constituted 93.94% of the above essential oil.
In another part of these results, it is stated: Matrix carriage, which is the main component of pseudo chamomile essential oil, has a strong unpleasant odor and is different from the essential oil odor of other chamomiles.
This highly unsaturated ester was isolated and identified by the closed formula C11H10O2 and a melting point of 37 ° C.
According to the results of this study, matricaria-astric is a blood-blocking compound and can be used as a drug to prevent bleeding. It should be noted that the second major ingredient in essential chamomile essential oil is cis-calamene, which makes up about 23% of the weight of the essential oil.
This compound is a two-ring terpene sesquipe with closed formula C15H22, also the oxidation of farnesene with closed formula C15H24 is a linear terpene sesquie. Phasene is a compound of many aromatic essential oils and is used to produce excellent fragrances.
Fazenzene was present in the essential chamomile essential oil at a rate of 5.12%, which causes the essential oil to smell good.
Researchers have emphasized: Considering the amount of essential oils and useful compounds that make up chamomile, it is necessary for specialists and researchers to cultivate false chamomile and by cultivating and exploiting it properly to use natural compounds in the country’s pharmaceutical industry. Take.
