The beginning of onion harvest in Tokhoor and Hashtbandi Minab
Out-of-season onion harvest began from 2,700 hectares of land in Tokhoor and Hashtbandi districts of Minab city.
The head of the Tokhoor and Hashtbandi service center predicted that more than 90,000 tons of onions would be harvested out of season this year.
In addition to consuming the province, the harvested product is sent to the markets of Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan, and the countries of Afghanistan and Iraq.
Nekouei added: The cost of production per kilo of onion is more than 500 Tomans and the selling price of first grade white onion is 500 to 550 Tomans.
He said: the presence of intermediaries and brokers, lack of supervision, lack of price control and increase in customs tariffs are among the factors reducing the price of this product.
The head of Tokhoor and Hashtbandi service center said: guaranteed purchase, export, reduction of customs tariffs, supervision, pricing and launching of conversion industries are important solutions to solve the problem of farmers.
