Cultivation of pepper mint in Golestan
Golestan Agricultural Jihad Horticulture Deputy Director announced the cultivation of 53 hectares of pepper mint.
Farhani, deputy director of horticulture management of Golestan Agricultural Jihad, said: Since the beginning of February, 53 hectares of pepper mint, which belongs to the family of medicinal plants, have been planted in the province.
He continued: the yield per hectare is on average 35 tons and it is predicted that 1,800 tons of pepper mint will be harvested from this area.
Farhani, stating that the harvest of this plant is done in 3 stages, added: The harvest of pepper mint begins in June and the interval between each harvest is 35 days.
He said: the main cultivation areas in the province are mountainous and Miandasht areas.
Pepper mint mint is a fragrant plant and one of the famous species of mint, which is formed from the combination of blue mint and ornamental or spicy mint.
