Rose water production for the first time in Zabul
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Zabul city said: Damask rose economic cultivation was done for the first time in Zabul.
Mousavi added: This project has been piloted with the help of a farmer on one hectare of land in Zabul.
He continued: Cultivation of Damask rose in this agricultural land started three years ago and now half of this level has reached economic production.
Mousavi said: Damask rose cultivation has been traditionally and scattered in Sistan farms for the past years, but it has disappeared due to the droughts of the last 20 years.
He added: Damask rose pilot cultivation has been done with the aim of encouraging farmers to grow and produce economic products and alternative cultivation in Zabul.
Khajeh Dad Azad, a farmer who planted the Damask rose pilot with the help of the agricultural jihad, said: Damask rose is currently being harvested from this area under cultivation.
He added: So far, it has been able to extract 300 liters of pure rose water using traditional methods.
