Afshan design carpets are unique and special in the designs that are made for rugs and their special feature is that they are one-dimensional. 1- As we have mentioned, the most important feature of this type of design in the carpet is that the drawing is not interrupted. This means that the pen should not be separated from the paper throughout the drawing. But there is another feature in this type of design that is the separation of the pen when drawing the leaves. This means that the pen will be separated from the paper only when the leaves are drawn. This is because in the Afshan design, the foliage of the design in the field must be designed to be scattered and not concentrated at one point.
2- The second feature that distinguishes Afshan design in Iranian carpet from other designs is that symmetry is not observed in this type of engraving.
