All about Goravan carpets in Iran
in northwestern Iran. In this carpet, symmetrical knots are used with cotton thread and woolen lint. Lacquer, bergamot and geometry are common and blue designs, red, pea, brick are common colors of Goravan carpet.
The village of Goravan is a dead end village whose only passage is Harris, so due to the short distance between Goravan and Harris, the weaves of this village are very close to Harris. Goravan has always followed Harris, and its hand weaves are very similar to Harris’s in this respect, but in terms of quality, both in texture and design, they are lower than Harris’s carpets.
