All about Sarab rugs in Iran
Sarab carpet is one of the light rural carpets that is woven in Sarab region located in East Azarbaijan province in northwestern Iran. In this carpet, symmetrical knots with cotton and woolen threads and woolen lint have been used. Qabi, 5 tangled fish, and bergamot and common bergamot designs are camel, blue, 2 brick, red, brown, crimson and pea are common colors of Sarab carpet.
With all the sensitivities that exist to cover the background and the highlights of the rugs, with all the flaws that enter the empty spaces in carpet weaving and the emphasis that is on filling the spaces, this simple weaving around the weave is an interesting feature. Which is incompatible with any of the aforementioned sensitivities. In the rest of the fabric, the border without a simple but very, very thin pattern can be seen around the carpet, but in this weaving, a lot of emphasis has been placed on it, and the border around the carpet is quite wide and has an almost dominant presence. As much as you can see the amazing flowers in the background and the birds, you can also see the simple camel weave.
At the same time, this strange wide border has given a very beautiful effect to the carpet. The original carpet appears to be spread on a wooden floor.
