Annual production of 162,000 tons of dates in Fars

The director of business development of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of Fars province announced the production of dates in the provincial average of about 162,000 tons per year.

Hedayatullah Rahimi pointed to the level of date cultivation in the province and noted: At present, 31,000 hectares of dates are produced in the cities of Farashband, Darab, Jahrom, Firoozabad, Qir and Karzin, etc.

He added: More than 27 factories of conversion industries are active in processing date products in cities such as Darab, Jahrom, Qir and Karzin, etc.

The director of business development of Fars Jihad Agricultural Organization also pointed to the export of this product last year and stated: in 1396, 7,911 tons of dates worth 210 billion rials, equivalent to $ 5.5 million to the UAE, Germany, Qatar, India, Exported to Switzerland and Army.

Rahimi, stating that there is no bulk in the export of dates, said: Dates are not processed raw, but are exported to the target countries and provinces in processing factories after processing and packaging.

He said: Because this product is harvested in the summer, it is not possible to announce the comparison of exports this year compared to the same period.
