Annual production of more than 150,000 tons of dates in Bam
The governor of Bam in the meeting of the Development and Planning Council and the Assembly of Representatives of Kerman province, said: more than 150 thousand tons of dates are produced annually in Bam.
Hussein Zain Al-Salehin announced this news and added: in order to support this product, it is necessary to implement the decision to place dates in the basket of goods as soon as possible.
He stated: so far, more than 1,600 cases have been approved in the agricultural development working group of Bam city, and considering that agriculture is the dominant economy in the eastern region of the province, more credits should be considered in this field.
The governor of Bam then presented a report on the performance of this city in various dimensions and said: 37 industrial units are currently active in the area of the new citadel of Bam, which has created employment for more than five thousand people.
Zeinat al-Salehin also pointed to the drought in the region and the drastic reduction of water resources, and stressed the need to accelerate drinking and agricultural water transfer projects from the Nisa Dam to Bam and Barwat.
