The head of the carpet affairs department of the Khorasan Razavi Commercial Organization said: On average, between 700 and 750 thousand square meters of carpets are produced annually in Khorasan Razavi.
Hamidreza Zeraatkar stated: Fortunately, in the first 9 months of this year, the export of carpets in Khorasan Razavi has increased by 40 to 50 percent compared to the previous year, which means that weavers produce carpets according to the tastes of the market.
He added: There are 45,000 carpet production workshops in the province and 360 centralized and decentralized workshops, of which 70,000 weavers are working in these workshops.
The head of the carpet affairs department of the Khorasan Razavi Commercial Organization said: so far, over 100 licenses for designing and painting carpets have been issued to graduates of this field in the province.
