Ardabil kilim weaving in Iran
Ardabil is one of the most important kilims of Iranian kilim weaving and its kilims are famous in the world. The most common traditional motifs in the province’s kilims are the role of a tray samovar, a crab in the text of the kilim and the seal of the seal (cross) and the dragon’s breath on the edge of the kilim. The motifs of abstract animals are also used. Kilim is flourishing in most areas of Ardabil in villages and nomads. But the city of Namin and its subordinate villages and the villages of Zahra district of Garmi city (Moghan) are important and major centers of kilim production in the province.
Kilim is woven in three types:
1- Plain weaving kilim: In this weaving kilim, one of them passes through the lattice of the weaves. Its map is usually geometric, and curved lines are rarely seen.
2- Embossed kilim: It has a simple background, but the main design is like a fluffy carpet, so that it is tied on the carpet of the kilim according to the carpet plan and at the end, the extra lint is arranged.
3- Verni: It is a flower without lint, without a map and mental. This type of kilim is woven in Kurdistan and Kerman with a different design and role, which is called Shiriki Pich in Kerman. The best varnish is produced in Ardabil by the Shahsun tribe, or Il-Sun, which has a long history in this field. The varnishes of the province in lacquer, navy, cream, white, onion, light blue with the role of animals in the middle and the maximum margin are very wide in width on both sides.
Varni types:
1- Varnish by “Gozam”: This type of Verni is produced very little and has a special capacity and originality.
2- Wool wool spinning machine: This category is not different from the others and due to the use of machine wool, they do not have much quality and originality.
3- All silk varnishes: All materials and materials are silk. They have a special elegance and are produced for export, and the quality of their originality and design is reduced.
4- Silk floor varnish: In this varnish, silk fabric has a special elegance and is produced for export, and the quality of its originality and role is reduced.
5- Old weaving varnishes: In these varnishes, the fabric is made of silk and the wool obtained from the fibers of old and old jajim is used and it has an export aspect.
Verni tissue method:
In terms of texture, varnish is similar to kilim and carpet, and this underlayment is one-sided, and this is due to the special method in its texture, which is done in the form of screw weaving. This method allows the weaver to execute the curved lines. The inner weaving is done with a twisting and non-twisting motion on the weft. At the end of each row, a thin cotton cloth is passed through the strands.
