The head of the Ramsar Agricultural Jihad Organization said: the new harvest of hazelnuts from Ramsar hazelnut orchards has started in this city.

Farzad Navayan stated: It has been about a week since the fruit sellers’ stalls, especially in the Ramsar tourist bottlenecks, including the summer road of Jawaherdeh and Janat Rudbar, have been selling fresh hazelnuts.

He pointed out that usually every year from the middle of July, fresh hazelnuts are marketed, he said: Ramsar city has many hazelnut orchards, especially in summer areas.

Navayan stated: In Ramsar city, there are 880 hectares of hazelnut orchards, which harvest an average of 2.5 tons per hectare. About 2000 farmers are working in the field of hazelnut production in Ramsar city.

He added: Ramsar hazelnut produced is considered as an organic product due to the non-consumption of toxins and chemical fertilizers. In addition to being used in the city, hazelnut products of the city are also exported to other parts of the country. From the second decade of August, hazelnut harvest from the orchards officially begins.
