Beginning of date harvest from the groves of Bandar Abbas

Harvesting of dates began from 4,900 hectares of groves in Bandar Abbas.

‌‌The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Bandar Abbas city announced this news and predicted that 22,000 tons of dates will be harvested this year.

Mansour Shafiei added: Due to the observance of technical principles and pest control, this year’s production has increased by 10% compared to last year.

He stated: Almatyri, Halili, Mardasang, Khasavi and Barhi are the most important cultivars cultivated in this region.

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Bandar Abbas city added: in addition to meeting the domestic needs of the province, the produced products will be sent to the provinces of Tehran, Fars and Isfahan.

In the end, Shafiei said that the date harvest season begins in late June and continues until the end of September, noting that some of the products produced are also exported to Central Asian countries and the Persian Gulf.
