Today, the first mechanized harvest of Tarom cultivar was carried out in one hectare of paddy fields in Babol city.
Majid Bahadori, Deputy Minister of Crop Production Improvement of Mazandaran Jihad Agricultural Organization, stated: Mazandaran is prone to cultivation and production of various crops due to its suitable climatic conditions, and rice is one of the important crops in Mazandaran as the first crop in terms of cultivated area. With an area of 214,325 hectares and an annual production of 1.2 million tons of rice, it ranks first in the country and supplies rice to 25 million Iranians.
He continued: It is predicted that 100,000 hectares of paddy fields in Mazandaran will be allocated for re-cultivation and ratoon cultivation this year.
Deputy of Crop Production Improvement of Mazandaran Agricultural Jihad Organization stated: Increasing the awareness and skills of farmers in the development of mechanized cultivation, use of suitable seeds, nutrition management and crop protection are effective factors in increasing rice production.
Bahadori stated: This year, 98,746 hectares of paddy fields in Mazandaran were mechanized, which has doubled compared to last year.
He pointed out: It is predicted that 1,260,000 tons of paddy will be harvested in the first paddy fields of Mazandaran this year.
