Harvesting of thyme from natural habitats of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province began.
The technical deputy of the General Department of Natural Resources and Watershed Management of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province said: this plant grows wild in the green slopes of this province.
Thyme is a perennial herbaceous plant with thick and numerous stems, with aromatic smell, spicy and bitter taste, from the mint family, whose very fragrant leaves are often used as a spice or medicine.
Mohammadi Moghaddam added: More than a thousand families traditionally use this medicinal plant.
In order to intensify the blood flow, this plant pours blood to any organ that is rubbed.
For hair loss, a decoction of this plant is used to increase blood flow in that area and nourish the hair follicles.
This plant is an excellent medicine for the respiratory system and diseases such as colds, bronchitis, asthma and flu.
This plant is also a good medicine for the stomach and eliminates stomach disorders in terms of digestion and bloating in general.
Harvesting thyme medicinal plants takes at least three months and is considered as a source of seasonal income for individuals and some families.
Out of 10 thousand rare plant species in Iran, there are 1,500 species in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, of which 250 species are specific to this geographical region.
