Amrullah Ahmadi stated: In Dashti city, there are more than 350 thousand palm trees in more than 2 thousand hectares of lands that have been cultivated rain-fed and irrigated.

He continued: Khark and Rotab harvest has started in Dashti city and we are witnessing its presence on people’s tables.

Ahmadi reminded: Rutab Gentar, which is a product of Dashti date palms, is one of the best, most quality and highest quality varieties of Rutab and dates in Bushehr province.

He added: The dates and rot of the city are more of the type of sugar and asceticism and later degrees of gentar, barimi, khanizi, etc., most of which are in the margin of Koohmand, Eastern Lavar, Sarmak, Leopard Plain, Baghan, Kordlan, Shanbeh, Sena and Kaki has been cultivated.

Ahmadi stated: more than eight tons are harvested annually from the city’s date palms, of which five percent are consumed in the form of khark, 15 percent in the form of rotab and 80 percent in the form of dates.
At present, the price of gentar rotab is between 8 to 10 thousand tomans per kilogram, sugar rotab is between 3 thousand and 500 to 4 thousand tomans and Khark is between 2 to 3 thousand tomans.

It is worth mentioning that the dates of Dashti city, especially Gentar dates, which are cultivated in the dry season, are among the best and most desirable types of dates, and the packaging is done traditionally and is offered in the city.

Due to the good quality of this God-given fruit, it has been transported as a souvenir in small packages to the Persian Gulf countries and in some provinces of the country for many years.
